I made three small political contributions today.
Tobi Beck. The Indiana 4th is an uphill climb for anyone, but I personally know Tobi and she would make a good representative. No district should be safe. Todd Rokita, her opponent, appears to be totally silent on the current immigration crisis and from his website appears to be a good little Trump lackey. Let's make this an unsafe district.
Andrew Janz. He's in a somewhat uphill fight against Nunes. While I'm sympathetic with a president wanting a lapdog - it appears to be quite the tradition - I don't think it should be congressman from my state. Let's get a representative who wants to work for America, not one who wants to play 'fetch the sound bite' in front of cameras.
Beto O'Rourke. The Donald not only humiliated Ted Cruz in the primaries, he appears to have ripped his balls off on the way. Cruz should be Trump's worst nightmare, but apparently he'd rather kiss the ass of the political winds. Against this, O'Rourke has been on the right side of healthcare, immigration, and national defense. Another tough fight, but one I have some hope for.
I'm not reading polls to pick winners. Yes, I want to flip winnable districts, but I also want to back those who take on the hard fights.
I invite everyone reading this to pick a race - or three or more - and do something. Volunteer if you can. Donate if you can. Amplify the voices of those who are trying to do the right thing.
